Corona Virus Prevention

As you are no doubt aware, there is currently a global outbreak of Corona Virus, officially named CoVid-19. With new cases being reported almost continuously, this is a virus that needs to be taken seriously. However, because of the constant news stories and massive amounts of information available, people are starting to panic. This panic is leading to shortages of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and hand soap. Rather than go into a panic, let me explain to you what you need to know about CoVid19, everything from what it is, how dangerous it is, and how to prevent it.

Danger

Currently, the mortality rate of Covid19 is 3.4%. However, this is based on the numbers out of China, where the virus originated. In rural China, healthcare is significantly lower than in the United States. Due to substandard healthcare, there are likely a great deal more people who are infected than have been identified since the symptoms are very similar to the flu; in addition, people can also be asymptomatic. So, the actual mortality rate is most likely far lower than is being reported. Again, this isn’t something to be ignored; however, panic is currently not necessary. What are the appropriate measures that you should be taking to minimize your risks?

Prevention

When it comes to prevention the first line of defense is the same as trying to prevent the cold or flu: Avoid sick people whenever possible, don’t touch your face, wash your hands with soap for 20-30 seconds, avoid large crowds and social gatherings, and wipe down surfaces you frequently contact. If you feel like you are coming down with something, stay inside! Once you are experiencing symptoms, it means you have been infected for a while already, but you can at least minimize coughing and sneezing around other people. These general prevention tips are useful to practice all the time, but what about more specific advice for fighting the coronavirus? Allow me to cover some of the best, natural things you can be doing.

  • Zinc -When it comes to battling cold and flu, there are few things more beneficial to your immune system than zinc. I’ve written at length about zinc in the past, but I will cover the basics of what it can do for you here. People have been taking zinc for colds since at least the 80s, so this is certainly not a new thing. However, it has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity recently after a study showed that it reduces the duration of a cold by one day. It is most effective in lozenge or syrup form, this is because the rhinovirus which causes colds, lives in the throat and nasal passages, and lozenges and syrups allow the zinc to have maximum contact with the germs. You can purchase my favorite Zinc supplement in Lozenge form at this link. https://www.agevitalwellness.com/aroma-zinc-lozenge-23mg/ . Take 1 lozenge daily in the mornings.
  • Probiotics -This is another preventative treatment that I have recommended for a long time. You have probably heard me say, “healthy living starts with the gut” before. That’s because it’s true! Our microbiome is made up of trillions of bacteria, consisting of over 400 different strains. A significant portion of this bacteria is essential to our health. Studies have shown that people with balanced microbiome experience fewer fevers, fewer coughs, and faster recovery periods. In fact, one study found that people who were given Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis had better results than a flu shot, without any side effects! Recovery time from cold and flu was shortened by up to two days. You can purchase my favorite probiotic supplement in capsule form at this link: https://www.agevitalwellness.com/gi-torque/. What I like about GI-Torque is that it’s specifically formulated to eradicated viruses and boost your immune system. You have to keep them refrigerated. Take 3 capsule daily with cold water before bed every day for a week and then drop down to 1 capsule daily.
  • NAC -A far less well-known supplement is n-acetylcysteine (NAC). But it is no less important than vitamin D or the other supplements that get all the press. When it comes to cold and flu, this is one supplement you want in your cabinet. NAC is an amino acid and a building block of glutathione, one of the most potent antioxidants in the body. One study found that when injected with 600 mg NAC twice a day, only 25% of people developed flu symptoms. Besides being the precursor to our body’s main antioxidant, NAC also works to break down lung-clogging mucous in respiratory disorders. Clears up congestion and takes care of our bodies filters (our lungs.) I give this to my children daily and I Triple my dose when I feel I have a cold coming on. I have this available in capsule, or injectable form. Call AgeVital at 941-388-0800 for the injectable form. The capsule form is available for purchase here at this link: https://www.agevitalwellness.com/n-acetyl-cysteine-nac/ . Take 3 capsules on an empty stomach once daily to protect your body from Corona Virus.
  • Vital-Silver Hydrosol – Silver was once a common treatment in medicine, but with the rise of antibiotics (and Big Pharma), Silver has fallen from memory. But it contains several beneficial properties, including: antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-biofilm, and complimenting antibiotic efficacy. One study done on mice found “significantly enhanced survival, lower lung viral titer levels, minor pathologic lesions in lung tissue, and remarkable survival advantage after infection with the H3N2 influenza virus, suggesting that AgNPs had a significant role in mice survival.” While this was a study done on mice, it is worth thinking about as a means to compliment your other supplements. I have this available in liquid IV form or Oral solution form. https://www.agevitalwellness.com/vitalsilver-professional-bio-active-silver-hydrosol-16-fl-oz
  • Vitamin C – Vitamin C to fight cold and Flu is certainly nothing new. So it is probably no surprise to hear it works great against Corona Virus as well. In fact the government of Shanghai just released a statement recommending high doses of intravenous vitamin C to patients who are not responding to treatment. The current recommendation varies from 50-200 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, depending on the severity of the case. At AgeVital we offer Vitamin C IV drips, this is great if you feel like you have already been exposed, or if you need to give your immune system a major boost! We also have Vitamin C in supplements, which you can order here https://www.agevitalwellness.com/vitamin-c-liposomal-syrup/.
  • Vitamin D – A vitamin you don’t often hear about in regards to flu is Vitamin D. You want to rethink that however, as several studies have found that vitamin D not only protects against flu, but does so better than the Flu Vaccine. This is especially true for people who are vitamin D deficient. For these people supplementing with vitamin D is 10 times more effective than the vaccine! How much vitamin D you need really depends on your levels. It’s good idea to get tested once a year. Target levels should be 45 to 60 nanograms per milliliter. During flu and cold seasons, I like to keep my levels and the levels of my clients and family at 80 to 100 nanograms per milliliter. I like to get my Vitamin D from the Sun when ever possible! However, that can be difficult for a lot of people, if my schedule doesn’t allow for me to get much sunlight, I use D3 Liquid spray, I take it before bed to make sure my immune system gets the boost it needs! We also offer Vitamin D injections if you think you are deficient or need to give your system a boost. https://www.agevitalwellness.com/d-3-10-000iu-liquid-spray/

The bottom line is that Corona Virus is something to be taken seriously, but you do not need to panic. As long as you follow the basic hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices, you can significantly minimize your risk of infection. If you think you might be coming down with something, or you know that you can’t avoid large crowds, there are options for you. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call or visit us at AgeVital pharmacy. We will be happy to help in whatever way we can!
