Vitamin C Being Used to Treat COVID-19 Patients in NYC

COVID-19 cases continue to climb around the world. Just recently, America surpassed Italy in the total number of confirmed cases. This is a virus that needs to be taken very seriously. I have shared my thoughts already, on prevention and treatment, and the importance of not panicking. While the dedicated scientists and researchers all over the world race to find treatments and vaccines, we are learning that some of the most effective treatments are from nature itself. Specifically, scientists are reporting that Vitamin C has excellent success in treating patients with coronavirus. For a lot of us, this isn’t shocking news, we have known about the efficacy of vitamin C to fight cold and flu for years. First reported by the Shanghai government, now NYC (the hardest-hit city in America) has also reported success using high-dose Vitamin C. This is not getting the news traction it should be, so let’s take a look at the importance of this news now.

As I mentioned, weeks ago, a report out of Shanghai indicate that high amounts of vitamin C – delivered intravenously – have been effective in managing COVID-19 cases. Given these promising results and having few other options presently, critical care doctors working out of Northwell Health facilities on Long Island have begun administering 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C three to four times per day to confirmed COVID patients. These levels are more than 16 times the National Institutes of Health’s daily recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C.

One of the reasons that such high doses are being used is because patients who are suffering from COVID-19 experience a dramatic drop in vitamin C levels when they suffer sepsis. Sepsis is an inflammatory response that occurs to the body overreacting to the infection. The high dosage allows the body to replace what was lost, and then some. However, it needs to be administered consistently, for it to maintain effectiveness.

If you are not sick, it is essential to maintain healthy Vitamin C levels. Having healthy Vitamin C levels allows your immune system to better fight off disease and prevents illness in the first place. There are a number of natural ways to give your vitamin C levels a boost. I wrote an article about this several years ago, which you can read Here

However, during these times of social distancing and self-isolation, you will probably want to make sure your immune system is extra equipped to handle whatever is thrown at it. That’s where supplements and IV drip come into play. By giving your body fast absorbing high doses of Vitamin C, it will be able to fight off the illness of which you may come into contact. At AgeVital, we offer both supplements and IV drips. You can order the supplements online, and call to set up an IV drip. You can even ask about home and office visits!
