ZRT Laboratory uses dried urine for testing both essential and toxic elements that have a significant impact on health.

Iodine is an essential component of T3 and T4, so its deficiency reduces thyroid hormone synthesis, while bromine in excess competes with iodine in the thyroid. Selenium is essential for intracellular conversion of T4 to T3. Arsenic and mercury reduce selenium’s bioavailability and disrupt thyroid health, while arsenic, mercury, and cadmium represent 3 of the 4 most toxic heavy metals according to the CDC and are extremely hazardous to health.

Urine dried on filter paper produces results nearly identical to liquid urine, but has clear advantages in sample transport, size and stability compared to typical 24-hour urine collections. Dried urine tests are also available for steroid hormone metabolites.
